Christina is a PhD student in Languages and Applied Linguistics at The Open University, in the department of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies. She has also completed a MSc in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on informal language learning through mobile assisted language use.
Dr Jessica Briggs, University of Oxford
Dr Briggs is a Departmental Lecturer in Second Language Acquisition and Course Director of the MSc Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition at the University of Oxford Department of Education. She is a Junior Research Fellow of Kellogg College, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Executive Committee of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL). Jessica’s academic interests derive from a situated cognitivist theoretical perspective and centre on the relationship between context and second language learning. She is particularly interested in second language acquisition/development/use in informal contexts of learning.
